The internship position will work on a variety of motion graphics elements as well as video related projects.

SUMMARY

The Portland Trail Blazers are looking for qualified applicants to fill the position of Group Experience Intern, in the Group Ticket Sales department for the upcoming 2016-17 season.  The internship position will work directly with the Rose Quarter group ticket sales staff, learning about Ticket Sales, Sports Marketing and Event Planning/Facilitation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

•Assisting with planning and coordinating group sales related events and promotions on and offsite.

•Working game days/nights to help facilitate client Fan Experiences and events.

•Learning and working with ticketing system and database to assist with customer purchase fulfillment, inquiries, data integrity and research.

•Assisting with youth basketball camps and clinics.

•Learning how to appropriately conduct and respond to clients through phones calls, emails and face to face conversations.

•Supporting the day-to-day operations, strategies and objectives of the department, which may include but are not limited to assembling mass-mailings, copy projects and data entry.

•Researching group category ticket prospects through a variety of methods.

•Other duties may come up based on intern qualifications as well as department and business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Preferred Educational Background:

•Bachelor’s degree or Graduate school with high preference in the area(s) of Business and/or Sports Marketing.

•Minimum GPA: 3.0

•Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and must be able to learn new software programs.

•Must be able to work flexible hours – nights and weekends, occasionally on short notice.

•Attendance at all Trail Blazers home games is required, and will include some nights and weekends.

•Fulfill, track, and manage all in-kind donations for nonprofit recipients and community events.

•Staff youth basketball and fitness events, as needed.

•Support community social media efforts.

•Conduct miscellaneous online research for various department projects.

•Participate in additional administrative tasks for social responsibility department.

•Occasional after-hours community events on non-game days.

SUMMARY

The Marketing Intern will work directly with the Marketing staff on a variety of promotional, media and advertising projects to gain the knowledge necessary to be an asset to any marketing team. Upon completion, the Intern will have received first-hand experience in media management, promotional strategy, event planning, and project planning - including the development necessary to showcase those skills in any fast-paced professional environment.

•Assist with basic office organization and administrative duties including filing, invoice processing, etc.

•Assist in the execution of promotional opportunities for the Trail Blazers and Rose Quarter.

•Manage media invoice reconciliation.

•Assist with execution of game day media elements, to include writing and editing drop copy.

•Manage occasional promotional activities during home games, family shows, concerts and/or special events.

•Assist with printing and posting of signage for Trail Blazers and Rose Quarter promotions.

•Manage storage system for items used during Trail Blazers and Rose Quarter promotions.

•Other duties and responsibilities as needed.

•Assist with coordination on team programs and initiatives, including Rip City Resident Blazers and Blazers Student Ambassador Program (including Blazers Student Pass).

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

•Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree or Portland-area College Student (in Junior or Senior standing) in an applicable major or significant knowledge of/interest in Marketing or Advertising.

•Available during occasional nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

•Knowledge of Microsoft software, including Excel and Outlook. Design knowledge a plus.

SUMMARY
The internship position is designed to allow the intern to experience a professional work environment through collaboration with the Corporate Partnership staff on a wide range of independent, group sales and marketing projects relating to Trail Blazers Corporate Partners. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The individual will have the opportunity to explore, observe, and participate in a variety of departmental activities including:

•Act as primary point of contact for external corporate clients regarding game activation.

•Execution of all game day sponsor and suite related activations (including and not limited to in-arena promotions, hospitality events, distribution of prizes, vehicle displays, set-up and tear down of sponsor displays).

•Planning and implementation of all sponsor related retail, community, internet promotions and special events.

•Interacting with corporate partners through game night activations, meetings, projects, and events.

•Managing departmental activities (eg: hospitality, event set-up, directional signage, sponsor handouts etc.).

•Manage and organize Corporate Partnership department merchandise and inventory orders.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

•Recent completion of an Undergraduate or Graduate program or currently enrolled as a Junior or above preferred.

•Other types of equivalent experience will be considered.

•Some nights and weekends are required. This position is required to work during all Trail Blazers home games.

•Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

•Must be able to work on Mac (primarily) and PC platforms.

•Proficient in (CC) Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, PowerPoint, Word. 

•Digital design and developer skills a plus (Basic knowledge of digital based design and development programs including html, CSS, UX & UI design, mobile design, fluid layout, Dreamweaver.)

•Game Night assistance, as needed.

•Fulfill Gift Card orders – process, pay, record and create gift cards.

•Data entry and reporting management, as required.

•Test purchase flow process and identify areas for improvement.

•Current enrollment or recent graduate of a four year college or university.

•Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.

•Experience with ticket software packages (Ticketmaster Archtics, Tickets.com, Paciolan etc.) a plus.

The Portland Trail Blazers are seeking an Analytics Intern for the teams Business Analytics team for the 16-17 season. The individual in this position will work closely with all members of the department on business critical projects. Data modeling and predictive analytics will be the major focuses of this internship.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

•Develop statistical models to help understand and predict customer buying patterns.

•Run regression analyses on various historical data sources.

•Suggest data collection methods and data points significant to better analyses.

•Assist with improving efficiencies in CRM sales and service processes.

•Assist in testing and optimizing Trail Blazers and Rose Quarter ticket management and purchase process funnels.

•Assist with ensuring accuracy and consistency of data across various databases.

Summary

The Venue Operations Intern works closely with the VP & General Manager, Assistant General Managers, and all Department heads focusing on the operational aspects of running two multi-purpose facilities and a full service campus.

The Venue Operations Intern will rotate between multiple departments throughout the internship, and will work closely with their supervisors in a wide range of daily activities to provide support and assistance for the departments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily needs of Assigned department, including Operations, Security, Event Services, Parking, Guest Experience, Production, Housekeeping, Entertainment Booking, and Box Office

  • Assist with each department’s preparation for event day through planning, correspondences, meetings, administrative work, and site reviews and setup assistance.

  • Provide on-site support during events
  • Assist with event day team member supervision.

  • Assist with day-to-day departmental operations and support the department head and VP & General Manager

  • Independently manage other daily and long term projects
  • Provide excellent and professional customer and client/promoter service
  • Maintain basic CRM data and other minor administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A current college student or a recent graduate.

  • Must be in good academic standing.

  • Must be able to work at least 25-30 hours per week, including weekends and nights.

  • Customer service experience.

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate and work well with colleagues and customers.

  • The ability to think creatively.

  • Must have a working knowledge of the following Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and have internet research skills.
