LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP: Winter 2010 (January 1, 2010 - April 15, 2010) - Duration of internship will be based on performance and/or business need. PURPOSE:The internship position is designed to allow the intern to experience various facets of the Ticket Sales group, with a focus on Group Ticket Sales with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Learning Objectives:The student will have the opportunity to explore, observe, and participate in a variety of departmental activities including:
Learning the Ticket Sales & Service process from start to finish
Participating in customer sales and retention visits
Learning and working within the ticketing software to place seats for customers
Learning how to handle customer phone calls and upsell group ticket programs
Assisting with day-to-day activities in the Ticket Sales department which may include but is not limited to assembly of mass-mailings and data entry
Researching Group category ticket prospects through a variety of methods including the internet and daily reading of local and regional publications
Participate in selected brainstorming sessions for the Ticket Sales Department
Learning and working within the ticketing CRM system to research and mine for leads
Other duties that may come up based on intern qualification and interest either in the Ticket Sales or other departments
Working game day/night and facilitating customer needs and activities during this period including Fan Experience coordination from on-court to pre-game activities
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled in a college, earning credits for a Bachelor’s degree or Graduate school with high preference in the area(s) of Business and/or Sports Marketing
Minimum GPA: 3.0
Must be able to provide proof that credit will be earned toward your course of study (from school/registrar)
Skills and Abilities:
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Must be able to learn new software programs
Excellent organizational skills
Proactive problem solver
High attention to detail
Knowledge of and interest in sports is a plus, but not required
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Must be able to work flexible hours and occasional nights and/or weekends
Must be a quick learner and enjoy a fast paced environment

POSITION CLOSES: November 30, 2009.
PURPOSE:This internship position is designed to allow the intern to develop organization skills in photography management, gain a better understanding of the practical usage of action photography in company marketing materials and game programs, and practice photography skills while shooting at company events or games.
Learning Objectives:The student will have the opportunity to explore, observe, and participate in a variety of departmental activities including:
Restructuring photography archiving database
Organizing and keywording game night and event photography
Shooting at events and games to attain requested photos for Rip City and staff needs
Selecting photographs for Rip City, marketing materials and other requests
Assisting creative team with Media Day activities
Learn from and work in conjunction with Team Photographer and Photo Assistants as needed
Scanning historical slides to make digital files for our new database
Photo selection, management and manipulation
Coordination of photo release process
Other opportunities may arise based on intern qualification and interest (graphic design, production, general marketing)
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled in a college, earning credits for a Bachelor’s degree or Graduate school with high preference in the area(s) of Photography, Art or Design.
Minimum GPA: 3.0

Must be able to work on Mac (primarily) and PC platforms
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop
Excellent organizational skills are a must

Must be quick learner and enjoy a fast paced environment
Must have a form of transportation to attend events or games
Must have a portforlio to demonstrate photography skills
Must be able to shoot photos on some game nights

Learning Objectives:The student will have the opportunity to explore, observe, and participate in a variety of departmental activities including:
Graphic and production print design
Photo selection, management and manipulation
Learn the day to day duties of the Creative/Marketing department
Learn more about design programs through hands on projects
Learn and participate in design projects and marketing programs
Learn how to select, archive and manage a digital photo library
Learn processes for print production
Participate in brainstorming sessions for upcoming marketing projects
Other opportunities may arise based on intern qualification and interest (graphic design, photography, production, general marketing)
