PAID INTERNSHIP - Editor & Videographer Intern - Portland Trail Blazers (Portland, OR)

SUMMARY

The internship position will work on a variety of video related projects for all Trail Blazers departments.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

•Assist in video production for broadcast, in-arena and web.

•Operate various production equipment including cameras, lighting equipment, microphones, etc. for location and studio production.

•Assist in other post production work when needed.

•Help manage video archive and file requests.

•Assist in pre-production for video projects.

•Assist television shoots as a production assistant.

•Assist Producers with printing and distributing game

      day paperwork.

•Locate sponsorship inventory and transfer assets for use in the broadcasts.

•Help Producers with stat research.

•Train as AD/AP during broadcasts (when possible)

•Perform other duties as assigned.

•Perform other duties based on interest and skill level.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

•Must have be proficient in Adobe Premiere.

•Must have strong interest in post production and editing.

•Must either be currently enrolled in or have earned a degree in the areas of: Design, Art Media, Radio/Television/Film, Journalism, Communications, Advertising.

•Knowledge of broadcasting and production equipment, including cameras.

SKILLS & ABILITIES  

•Attentive to detail and direction and have excellent organizational skills.

•Proactive problem solver.

•Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects for multiple clients simultaneously.

• Must be open and responsive to design feedback and changes.

•Must be able to communicate status of projects effectively to department and clients.

•Must be a quick learner and enjoy a fast paced environment.

LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP

September 2016 – June 2017

•Duration of internship based on performance and/or business need.

•Some weeks may exceed twenty hours.

What is the Trail Blazers College Student Ambassador Program? The Trail Blazers College Student Ambassador Program, BlazersU, is a Part Time employment opportunity for energetic college students to join our team! Student Ambassadors are passionate about the Portland Trail Blazers and share their love for Rip City with their peers. Ambassadors are responsible for representing the Trail Blazers brand on campus and at events and will engage with fellow students and Blazers fans in order to increase brand awareness. An ideal candidate is comfortable engaging with student groups, and is excited to expand their network on campus and beyond.

What does a College Student Ambassador do? Student Ambassadors serve as an official extension of the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Quarter.  Nobody understands their school better than the students who eat, sleep, and study there every day. With this knowledge and access, Student Ambassadors are able to communicate marketing messages, event details and ticket sales opportunities in a language that their friends and peers connect with.

Student Ambassadors will be responsible for:

• Up to four hours of promotion per week

• Promoting the Blazers Student Pass (student-only ticket program), group ticket game nights, unique theme nights, retail specials, student surveys, special events and more

• Presenting Blazers products and messaging to on-campus student groups, living groups and Greek Houses

  • Promoting Rose Quarter concerts and events at Moda Center and Veterans Memorial Coliseum.  Conducting campus events and activities in conjunction with Trail Blazers promotions

• Reporting back to the Student Ambassador Coordinator regarding program progression

Qualifications:

• Must be actively enrolled in one of the following colleges through the end of spring term, 2017

     - Art Institute of Portland

     - Clackamas Community College

     - Concordia University

     - Lewis and Clark College

     - Mt. Hood Community College

     - Pacific University

     - Portland Community College NOTE:  We are looking at separate Ambassadors at each unique campus

• Strong written and verbal communication

• Excellent time-management, organization, and planning skills

• Extensive knowledge of college campus

• Connected, passionate, committed

• Excited about the Portland Trail Blazers

• Ability to self-motivate and work independently with little supervision

• Proven history in engaging with peers as a leader

• High level of ethics, values, integrity

• Involved with campus activities/organizations

• Ability to appear at quarterly in-person meetings in Portland

  • Event planning experience

Paid Internship - Digital Design - Portland Trail Blazers & Rip City Management (Portland, OR)

LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP: 2016-2017 NBA Season September 2016 - June 2017 (Duration of internship based on performance and/or business need.)

HOURS PER WEEK: Variable (Average 25+ hours per week)

COMPENSATION: Oregon Minimum Wage currently $9.75 per hour

JOB SUMMARY

The Digital Design Intern will work with the Digital team on the design and development and of web-centric technology to support the organizations online presence. This includes designing, developing, and launching new web pages, integrating sites with back end applications; and performing day-to-day administration of the organization’s web portfolio. The Digital Design Intern will also support the design team in creating graphics for social media as well as publish content to the website during office hours and on game nights.

Digital Design Intern will be a highly-organized and creative professional with a passion for improving the digital experiences of Portland Trail Blazers fans and Rose Quarter attendees, building relationships with internal clients and desire to become the ultimate team player. This person will assist in designing and developing for digital platforms including websites, social media and mobile. Must not be afraid to take risks and push themselves in the digital space.

JOB DUTIES

  • Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining all online properties including but not limited to trailblazers.com and rosequarter.com.

  • Provide development for digital projects and applications across the organization.

  • Work with the graphic design group on web ad campaigns – layout and submit to online advertising partners.

  • Participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions for upcoming projects.

  • Design Trail Blazers and Rose Quarter digital assets for Ticket Sales and Services, Community Relations, Corporate Partnership, Game Operations, Events, concerts, family shows and general marketing.

  • Create co-branded promotional web elements for Trail Blazers corporate partners.

  • Design graphics for social media sites. (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)

  • Create graphic templates for game day digital needs.

  • Publish Videos, Photo Galleries, and other content to trailblazers.com and social media on game nights.

  • Develop landing and splash pages, emails, newsletter, web ads for trailblazers.com, rosequarter.com and external sites.

  • Design and develop graphics for mobile app.

QUALIFICATION/SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have earned Bachelor's degree in Web Development or Graphic Design.

  • Must be able to work on Mac (primarily)

  • Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud. (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver)

  • Digital design skills. (html, CSS, UX & UI design, responsive design)

  • Preferred - experience in using various content management systems, preferably Drupal 7.

  • Must have design portfolio to demonstrate experience.

  • Attentive to detail and direction and have excellent organizational skills.

  • Proactive problem solver and be able to work well under pressure.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects for multiple clients simultaneously.

  • Passion for social media, other emerging technologies and eagerness to learn new applications and software.
