LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP: Spring - Summer 2010 - Duration of internship will be based on performance and/or business need.
HOURS PER WEEK: 10 - 20 Flexible
POSITION CLOSES: February 19, 2010

PURPOSE: Gain experience in the various facets of the Database Marketing Department of the Portland Trail Blazers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Learn skills and knowledge relevant to Database Marketing such as Microsoft CRM, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Reporting Services, Lead Generation, Sales/Marketing Campaign Analysis, etc.
• Receive training in authoring and maintaining database reports
• Learn to mine data from a relational database specific to business needs
• Participate in selected brainstorming sessions with the Marketing, Ticket Sales and Database Marketing Teams specific to the Database Marketing tools and processes
• Gain practice in the business side of database development
• Plan, coordinate and manage a returned mail process
• Take on other related projects as assigned by applying skills and training received
   

Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

• College Student in Junior/Senior standing or recently graduated in an applicable major or significant knowledge of/interest in Computer Science and Management of Information Systems
• Minimum GPA: 3.0
   

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects
• Has knowledge of CRM systems and Microsoft SQL
• Excellent organizational skills
• Attentive to detail and follow through to completion
• Proctive problem solver
• Must be a quick learner and enjoy a fast-paced environment
• Takes initiative on a variety of projects
• Possesses a professional attitude
