INTERNSHIP (Paid) – Motion Graphic Designer 2015/2016 Season - Portland Trail Blazers (Portland, OR)

LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP:  September 2015 – June 2016 - Duration of internship is also based on performance and/or business need.

HOURS PER WEEK: Variable (Average 15-20, some weeks may exceed 20)

COMPENSATION: Oregon Min. Wage currently $9.25 per hour

POSITION CLOSES: August 7th, 2015 (Applications will be reviewed in order received and position may be filled prior to application deadline.)

Other employee benefits; relocation expenses will not be covered.

PURPOSE: The internship position will work on a variety of motion graphics elements as well as video related projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in motion graphic production for broadcast, in-arena and web • Assist in video production (promotions and advertising)
  • Assist in pre-production for video projects
  • Assist in DVD Authoring
  • Assist television shoots as a production assistant
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Perform other duties based on interest and skill level

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements:

  • Must have strong knowledge of motion graphics
  • Must either be currently enrolled in or have earned a degree in the areas of: Design, Art Media, Radio/Television/Film, Journalism, Communications, Advertising
  • Proficient in Adobe After Effects
  • Some knowledge of Cinema 4D a plus
  • Some knowledge of Adobe Premiere a plus
  • Knowledge of broadcasting and production equipment • Attentive to detail and direction and have excellent organizational skills • Proactive problem solver • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects for multiple clients simultaneously • Must be open and responsive to design feedback and changes • Must be able to communicate status of projects effectively to department and clients • Must be a quick learner and enjoy a fast paced environment

Job Summary/General Description:

This position is designed to allow the intern to experience various facets of the Human Resources Department with the Trail Blazers & Rip City Management. Interns support the Human Resources team by aiding in a variety of projects, recruitment, employee activities and maintaining various files for an organization with over 300 events a year and 1,000+ employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain various files, including employee personnel files, I-9 files; EEO data files.
  • Participate in college and recruitment job fairs.
  • Participate in preliminary job interviews.
  • Perform reference/background checks
  • Assist with HR audit of personnel and I-9 files.
  • Organize employee information packets.
  • Input various information in HR databases.
  • Miscellaneous other projects as assigned.

Job Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Pursuing or completed a bachelors degree.
  • Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with highly confidential information.
  • Some experience working in a professional environment highly preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented.
  • Able to make independent decisions; quick learner; problem solver.
  • Demonstrate excellent follow-through.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of filing systems and business etiquette.
